We needed a deck for our above ground pool. We had a few “Deck Builders” and “handymen” come by and give us estimates. However, the confidence just was not there. They all gave us a decent price but when pressed about design and how it was going to look, we quickly lost confidence. Then we called Blue Star Carpentry based on a recommendation from Brothers3 were we purchased the pool. Kevin Florindo came over and quickly gave us multiple options and professionally detailed how the deck would look. He then did a computer graphic of how the pool would look including pictures of deck furniture that my wife insisted had to fit on the deck. We finally got the confidence that we wanted from a builder. The day before Blue Star was to arrive and begin building my wife and I were concerned that the deck would be too small or the layout would not work with the location of our pool filter and heater. Kevin said no Problem and that night he was staking out the dimensions of the pool in our backyard. We decided that the deck should be a little bit larger and Kevin adjusted the plan. The next day Chris which was absolutely fantastic began digging the footings and proceeded to build us the exact deck we wanted. It was absolutely beautiful. Not only was Chris courteous and professional but he left our yard looking exactly how it looked before he started. I highly recommend Blue Star Carpentry.

Kevin came to our house on time and well prepared. He gave us lots of ideas and had a great portfolio of completed jobs. He showed us all our material options and detailed the differences. He thoroughly explained how everything would be built from the cemented posts, to the wood frame, to the trex finish. Once we settled on a design we were quoted a very fair and competitive price for our custom deck.
The job was able to be started sooner than expected which we were thrilled about. His extremely polite and respectful crew showed up on time every day. The worked very efficiently and very neatly – each day leaving the site immaculate. You could tell they have worked together for a while – like a well oiled machine. Mid installation I decided to change my design – not one got flustered- in fact they were extremely flexible and accommodating. The job was completed ahead of schedule and we couldn’t be more pleased. Kevin was so awesome to deal with – always so positive friendly and honest. From start to finish working with Kevin Florindo at Blue Star was one of the finest experiences I have ever had with a contractor. He listened to everything we wanted in designing our deck. His crew were all top notch craftsmen. The finished product is amazing, and they left our yard as clean as it was when they got here.
